At present, the total collection of the Information Resource Center comprises 111,985 titles in 293,507 copies of educational literature. This includes 9,386 titles in 18,816 copies of scientific literature, 11,635 titles in 36,555 copies of textbooks, 48,859 titles in 161,299 copies of teaching aids, 31,249 titles in 43,753 copies of fiction literature, and 10,856 titles in 33,084 copies of other literature.
In addition, the Center has 60 audiobooks, educational materials in Braille amounting to 106 titles in 283 copies, as well as 23,833 full-text electronic resources. The electronic catalog of the Information Resource Center, available through main.buxdu.uz, contains full-text electronic versions of all 293,507 copies of literature, of which 12.5 percent are textbooks, 55 percent are teaching aids, 6 percent are scientific literature, 15 percent are fiction literature, and 11.3 percent are other types of literature.
In order to provide convenience for students with disabilities, the Information Resource Center has a special access ramp. Computers have also been allocated and equipped on the second floor. A database of audiobooks has been created and installed on the computers.
The internet speed at the Information Resource Center is 100 Mbps, and its uninterrupted operation is regularly monitored. All electronic resources are arranged by fields of study, and users are provided with access through the unilibrary.uz website.
The staff of the Information Resource Center of Bukhara State University have uploaded digitized materials to the “Electronic Library” platform, unilibrary.uz, including 24,072 titles of educational literature, 7,409 titles of articles, 3,801 titles of dissertations and dissertation abstracts, and 1,302 titles of monographs.
During 2025, a total of 891,933 items of literature were provided to readers, of which 226,403 were electronic resources and 665,530 were printed publications.
The Information Resource Center is equipped with 139 computers, 4 high-speed scanners, 6 printers, including 1 color printer, 1 television, and 1 interactive whiteboard.
For students and users, the Center operates 9 traditional reading halls, 5 electronic reading halls, and 1 conference hall.
The Information Resource Center has reading halls, book storage rooms, and electronic halls equipped with all necessary facilities for professors, teachers, students, and staff members. The main IRC building has a hall with 158 seats; the branch library of the Faculty of Agronomy and Biotechnology has 33 seats; the branch library in the student dormitory has 10 seats; the branch library of the Faculty of History and Law has 38 seats; the branch library of the Faculty of Foreign Languages has 12 seats; the branch library located in the educational building of Gijduvon Soktare MFY has 50 seats; and the branch library in the “Universal” sports complex has 32 seats. The total seating capacity of the educational and electronic halls amounts to 333 seats.
The University Information Resource Center possesses sufficient material, technical, and information resources to support the educational process. The collection of educational and scientific literature has been formed in accordance with the content of the subjects and modules specified in the educational programs implemented at the University.
In order to meet the needs of the student body, textbooks and teaching aids are aimed at ensuring theoretical and practical training, while scientific literature, monographs, and dissertations support research activities, and electronic resources expand opportunities for distance and independent learning.
The Information Resource Center has 38 staff positions, and currently 40 employees are providing services. Of them, 10 employees have higher education, including 1 master’s degree holder; 4 employees have specialized secondary education; and 26 employees have secondary specialized education in library science. In addition, 11 employees are currently studying in part-time programs at higher education institutions in Bukhara. In order to improve the knowledge and professional skills of the staff, 13 employees participated in training and methodological support courses organized by the National Library of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the 2024/2025 academic year and received diplomas and certificates.
In 2024, 765 titles of educational literature in 16,104 copies were purchased for a total amount of 931,865,482 UZS.
In 2025, 139 titles of educational literature in 3,026 copies were purchased for a total amount of 568,705,364 UZS.
In the first quarter of 2026, 5 titles of educational literature in 173 copies were purchased for a total amount of 19,094,795 UZS. Of these, textbooks accounted for 5 titles in 173 copies, all in Uzbek.
